Before the 49ers moved into their new home in Santa Clara, I used to do a road trip up to San Francisco quite regularly. Tickets to a Niners game were reasonable and you could get some nice close up photos of the Gold Rush Cheerleaders if you were in the right section. Visiting with the Gold Rush was a nice way to spend a weekend up in the Bay Area and it was a plus that they had some really sexy Angela King designed uniforms during those years…sexy uniforms are always a plus in my mind.
We go way back to the early 2000’s for this edition of Flashback Friday. I think this was one of the last photos I took during my film shooting days because the following season (2004), I switched to digital photography. This is a scanned image from what I think was a negative and you can tell because it’s not quite sharp as I used a consumer grade film scanner to convert the image to digital. But that goes to show you how far we have come in terms of the evolution of photographic technology.
Back in the the day, Ashley B. was one of my favorite Charger Girls to photograph and she had all the requisite qualities: good looks, great dancer, and very photogenic. And I just love the frosted blue eye shadow! Works for me!
In this edition of Flashback Friday, we take a look back at the 2010 P-R-O Convention in Atlanta and focus our attention on one of the most memorable cheerleaders at the event, Seattle Sea Gal Courtney Moore.
It is perhaps apropos that we feature Courtney as she was recently appointed as the new Seattle Sea Gals Director. I am sure she will do a good job and I sincerely hope that she returns to the P-R-O Convention with a huge contingent of Sea Gals.
One of my earliest official assignments for UltimateCheerleaders.com was covering the Inland Empire 66ers Dance Team. Back then, aspiring contributors of the UC.com had to prove themselves by generating meaningful content and that was difficult because in the early years of that blog, we were just beginning to establish our credibility and few big league teams would approve credentials for us to cover their dance teams.
One of the sports teams that would allow us to cover their dance team was a Class A baseball team called the Inland Empire 66ers. They had a long standing dance team and a forward thinking team executive who saw that any coverage was positive coverage and I was able to come out to several games to shoot their dance team. And let me tell you that the 66ers ran a first class minor league baseball team and their marketing efforts were exceptional. They had many giveaways, including the much coveted bobble head nights, and they had a dance team to appeal to younger, female fans who may not appreciate minor league baseball as much as their parents.
It was a great time for me because I got to cover some amazing young cheerleaders and I got a chance to help prepare myself for other events by being challenged to tell a visual story of the festivities.
NFL cheerleader auditions are usually an all day affair and in the case of the Charger Girls preliminary auditions, it was more than six hours of shooting possibilities. I took close to 4,000 photos and of that, I think nearly 900 were worthy of closer inspection. Of that total I think about 3oo were good and descriptive enough to be used for my UltimateCheerleaders.com article. And since I posted only about 80-90, I have some leftovers that I am sharing with you here today.
So let’s take a look at those.
Last week, I attended the Charger Girl auditions at the Bay Club South Bay and had a wonderful time covering the event for UltimateCheerleaders.com. It was a long day and my arms were very sore from holding up my camera equipment for hours on end and not even the company of 150+ gorgeous girls could mitigate my suffering…but life goes on, eh. I guess I am getting old.
In honor of the NFL’s Hottest Dance Team, we take a look back at another amazing Charger Girl from years past. Her name…Blake and if memory serves correct, she was a former Laker Girl and a Disney Princess cast member during her time as a Charger Girl.
Oh and if you have been paying attention to the other Los Angeles NFL team, you may have noticed that a certain blonde bombshell named Blake B. made the 2018 Rams Cheerleaders…congratulations to one special girl.
As the Los Angeles Chargers embark on their second season in Los Angeles, a renewed sense of optimism has emerged with being the consensus front runner for the AFC West division title. There is also new sense of optimism with respect to the Charger Girls as with every year, a new crop of Charger Girls emerges to take over the mantle from the previous squad.
For me, the second best day in the life of a Chargers fan, aside from draft day, is the day when the new squad of Charger Girls is announced. We are a few days away from that, but in this article, we will get a look at some of the young women trying out for the hottest dance team in the NFL, your Charger Girls.
2015 was a good year. There were many special Charger Girls on that squad and one of my all time favorites was Charger Girl named Delani D. She was a great dancer…very good looking…and very photogenic. I must admit, I enjoyed her time on the squad and like most of my favorite Charger Girls, I got many wonderful photos. Not all cheerleaders are photogenic, but the special ones have this quality. And Delani was special.

The Washington Redskins Cheerleaders have been in the news lately and I thought I would share my thoughts on the squad. I have had the good fortune to photograph the squad the past few years at the annual P-R-O Convention in Atlanta and I have nothing but great things to say in my limited experience. I think their squad is one of the hottest in the NFL and that may have gotten them in a little trouble because in this day and age, a women that is sexy and dressed provocatively can draw the ire of some segments of our society.
I have also met some very impressive and special women from that squad that are very intelligent, well educated and have successful careers. What do they have in common? They have a passion for dance, love to perform and enjoy representing the Redskins organization.
In this edition of Flashback Friday, we highlight on of those special Washington Redskins Cheerleaders…Rachel. This is a photograph from some one on one time during a brief lull in the dance training…and as you can see, Rachel is a very photogenic and just wonderful to shoot.
In this edition of Flashback Friday, we take a look back at one of my all time favorite Charger Girls, Angela M. She was on the team for several years and all throughout that time, I was able to get some truly amazing photographs of her. We sort of had a special connection and had this wonderful photographer/model vibe going on that led to many of my favorite Charger Girl images.
