Flashback Friday – TCU Showgirl at the 2023 CFP Fan Fest

DAT_6896B

I may have shared this before, but I just love this photo and it’s been a while since the last CFP Championship game…so here you go. I have long admired the TCU Showgirls. To me, they are the college football equivalent of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. If you’ve seen them perform, you know what I mean. They have a unique style and every nuance in how they present themselves to their dance style evokes that DCC imagery…and that’s not a bad thing to have for a college dance team. Plus, I love the color purple.

So when Los Angeles hosted the 2023 CFP Championship game between Georgia and TCU, I had to come on down to the Los Angeles Convention Center and sneak a peak of this amazing dance team at the Fan Fest. And this image is one of my favorites from the event.

Flashback Friday – 2012 Charger Girl Alexis S.

AlexisL12P1v 08

In this week’s edition of Flashback Friday, we take a look back to the 2012 season and feature a former Miss California Teen USA, Alexis Swanstrom.  Back in the day, the San Diego Charger Girls attracted the most talented and beautiful dancers to try out or the squad and Alexis was no different.  She was notable because of her statuesque good looks and she definitely caught your attention.  Alexis was on that squad for only two seasons if my memory serves correct, but she left a lasting impression.

Flashback Friday – 2017 Los Angeles Rams Cheerleader Teresa

Rams17P3v182

This week, we feature a lovely girl with a distinctive look, 2017 Los Angeles Rams Cheerleader Teresa.  In a sea of good looking and talents dancers who tried out for the 2017 Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders, it’s safe to say you better stand out if you make to make this squad.  And Teresa did that with her unique hairstyle, infectious smile and exceptional dancing ability.  That is what I remembered about her at those auditions.  So it was no surprise to me that she made the team and as you can see from this in season photo, Teresa definitely lit up the sideline.

Flashback Friday – Washington Redskins Cheerleader Maigan

2014 PRO 352

More P-r-O Convention goodness! In this edition of Flashback Friday, we take a look back to the 2014 P-R-O Convention and feature the gorgeous Washington Redskins Cheerleader Maigan.  When I first started covering this event for the UltimateCheerleaders.com, one of the squads that I wanted to photograph was the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders.  To me, they were one of the hottest looking squads in the NFL.  Gorgeous girls, sexy uniforms and a stylish attitude were the main attractions for me.  And I think Maigan embodies all of these qualities.

Flashback Friday – The 2018 Houston Texans Cheerleaders

PRO2018v192

In this edition of Flashback Friday, we take a look back to 2018 and feature the lovely Houston Texans Cheerleaders. They were in attendance at the annual P-R-O Convention in Atlanta and they always brought a large contingent of beautiful cheerleaders.  And I was taken aback by their unbridled enthusiasm, which makes for great images as you can see here.

There’s not much to say, but I think they are one of the hottest NFL dance teams but they could use some sexier uniforms.  They have hot girls, but I am not wild about their uniforms.  Maybe one day, I’ll make the trek to Houston to check out the squad and see what they’ve been up to since I last saw them.

Flashback Friday – The 2014 Phoenix Suns Dancers Auditions

PHXSuns14v063

In this edition of Flashback Friday, we take a look back to the 2014 Phoenix Suns Dancers Auditions and feature a beautiful dancer named Ariel.  If I recall correctly, Ariel was a returning veteran and you can generally tell the difference between returning vets and rookie aspirants because they are generally more polished and come ready to perform.  And that was certainly the case with Ariel.

She really stood out for her looks (she came game day ready) and her top level effort dance effort.  And nothing better exemplifies this than this image of her doing a leaping turn during the across the floor portion of the auditions. It’s one of my favorite shots of the day and a rather challenging image to get.

Flashback Friday – The 2017 Los Angeles Charger Girls Auditions

CG17v442

Back in the day, I used to love photographing NFL cheerleader auditions. The girls are…hot. The setting is usually fun to shoot. And the images that I got were very pleasing. So, when I shot the Charger Girls auditions, I was in heaven because they always attracted hundreds of gorgeous girls and this being their inaugural year in Los Angeles, the turnout was amazing. As I have said in the past, there were many cheerleaders and dancers from other local pro teams and I say some former UCLA dance teamers…not surprising because these auditions were held on the UCLA campus in Pauley Pavilion.

In this week’s Flashback Friday, we feature one of the many gorgeous Charger Girl hopefuls, one that caught my eye. I didn’t catch her name, but she fit the bill as far as I was concerned. Tall. Gorgeous. And a great dancer. What’s not to like?

Flashback Friday – 2015 Charger Girl Whitney

Whitney15R1V05

In this edition of Flashback Friday, we take a look back to the 2015 season and feature a lovely blonde Charger Girl named Whitney.  Whitney and her sister Devin were members of the University of Arizona Pom squad and I had a chance to photograph them at a pep rally in Anaheim before their NCAA Tournament game against Wisconsin.  And I was pleasantly surprised to see them both in a Charger Girl uniform the following season.  Not that I keep track of these things, but it’s kinda hard not to notice a set of twins cheering on the sidelines…they kinda stick out.

Anyways, in this photo, we only feature one of the twins, Whitney. I was kinda of disappointed that Devin was on a different line because it would have been nice to book end the formation…come to think of it, they were never on the same line, if my memory serves correct.  A lost opportunity, I think.

Flashback Friday – A Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader at the 2014 P-R-O Convention in Atlanta

2014 PRO 409

In this edition of Flashback Friday, we take a look back to the 2014 P-R-O Convention and feature a beautiful Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader. For those who may not know, the P-R-O Convention was the best professional cheerleader dance convention in the nation and featured many talented dance team from the NFL, NBA and semi-pro teams. The convention even drew some college and hockey dance teams. It was a great event to cover because some of the hottest cheerleaders attended the event and the Minnesota Vikings always brought a large contingent. And another reason why this was my favorite event to cover, was that the teams wore their game day uniforms and that made for some beautiful images.

Flashback Friday – A Los Angeles Rams Cheerleader

Rams17P3v125

In this edition of Flashback Friday, we revisit the 2017 NFL season and feature a lovely Los Angeles Rams Cheerleader, whose name escapes me.  Back in 2017, I was able to secure a field pass and photograph my second Rams game at the Los Angeles Coliseum.  This time, it didn’t rain, but I did have some misfortune.  As I mention previously, I broke my telephoto zoom lens and had to rely upon a 24-70 zoom lens. That was not ideal as I had to get really close to the lines, but I adapted and overcame.  And I think I got some wonderful shots, like the one above.
